UC Merced is inviting comments on two local policies.
The proposed policy on Identification with UC Merced in Media sets forth specific standards for posting on websites and social media accounts and specifies how media inquiries should be handled. This policy applies to UC Merced employees and affiliates.
The Interim Animal Policy has been updated in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and describes the policy and procedures regarding use of service and support animals on University property. The policy:
- outlines services for members of the campus community seeking accommodation involving service and assistance animals;
- maintains campus health, safety, and security standards relative to animals allowed on University property; and
- identifies the distinction between those animals permitted on and those excluded from University property.
The policy applies to all campus community members, including students, employees, and visitors. This policy does not apply to animals in research, teaching and testing.
The proposed policies are posted on UC Merced’s Policies website. Please submit comments to the UC Merced Policy Office by July 1, 2021, by emailing policy@ucmerced.edu.
