Campus safety is an issue both of mutual concern and mutual obligation. As part of ongoing efforts to empower and equip members of our campus community, I invite you to participate in an upcoming workshop presented by the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).
“Identifying and Responding to ‘Behaviors of Concern’ in the Workplace” is an opportunity to learn about what each of us can do to recognize, report and respond in situations where personal or collective safety may be at risk.
The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 2, in Classroom and Office Building, Room 105 (COB 105). During this time, representatives from the UC Merced Police Department, Office of the Chancellor and the UC Office of the President will provide information about approaches and structures to handle behaviors of concern, including threats and acts of violence.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. Space is limited and registration through the UC Learning Center is required. CatCards are also required and a continental breakfast will be provided to registered participants.
